Can't Change Resolution

I had to format my mom's hard drive because it said Disk Read Error, Press Ctrl Alt Del. Well, I formated the HD and no I have re-installed Windows XP. She has a 15" LCD monitor, and it used to be on 1024x768, but now it's on 640x480 and I can't change it! When I go to properties>>settings>>Screen Resoulution(the slider thing) It shows it has other options, but I cannot move it. It is stuck on 640x480! Anyone know why?

Well, the only CD that came with my monitor was a help resource CD. It says I have to click PROPERTIES>>SETTINGS>>ADVANCED>>MONITOR>>PROPERTIES, but I can't click properties! I have bigger problems now, I restarted, and now it took like a loooong time to load up, and it came up to this blue screen:

STOP: c0000221 {bad image checksum}
The image olecli32.dll is possibly corrupt. The header checksum does not match t
he conputed checksum.

What's up with that?

check dell's site under tech support, enter your service tag # and get any original or updated drivers for your graphics card and monitor, if your monitor didn't come from dell, check the manufacturers website. XP is usually pretty good about detecting monitors though.

I can't even get on Windows anymore! I turn it on and it loads up a blue screen with white text that says:

STOP: c0000221 {bad image checksum}
The image olecli32.dll is possibly corrupt. The header checksum does not match t
he conputed checksum.

Anyone know what the heck I can do about it? I just formatted her HD and re-installed Windows, and I did it in NTFS or w/e the option other than Fat 32 is because Fat 32 wasn't an option. On another site, it says Windows messes up a lot when not in Fat 32, and so I don't know how to do it since it didn't even have that as an option!

If it's a dell, reinstall it using the dell recovery cd, be just like it came from the factory. You didn't put any new memory in it did you? Dell computers tend to have issues with a lot of memory.
