Can't change multiplier on Asus A7V266-E

well, I can change the multiplier, but then the system won't post..
I have a Thunderbird 1300, which is FACTORY unlocked. I have the system set for jumper-free mode.
I can change the FSB all I want, but I cannot for the life of me get it to run with a different multiplier.
Wether I change it from 13x to 12x or 14x, it will NOT post.
Any ideas why?
Even when I reset the FSB to 100/33, it will not run with any multiplier setting other than the 12.5x/13x multiplier.
