cant change dynamic to basic

Hey guys, I am trying to change an extra hard drive I received from a buddy to a basic drive so I can install Windows on it.

I understand I need to delete all partitions to do this, but the disk has a 14gb recovery partition that I cannot delete. Disk management just shows it without a label and there are no options for it. I right click the volume and the only option there is "help". Nothing else shows up.

Apparently you can't install Windows on a Dynamic disk.

Any help?

What about using a bootable utility CD, like the various linux toolsets, where you boot up off that, and then nuke all the partitions using that, so you won't be under the windows disk management thing? Unless you are trying to save the data on that partition.
