HELP PLEASE!!!

Hey guys I am having some problems with my lite-on drive. I can create an image file from a cd. Then I go to create a cd from an image and I run into problems.

1. I choose the image.
2. Hit Next
3. I select write speed to be max
4. I select Write mode to RAW DAO
5. I do not check Simulate Writing
6. I do not check Burn Proof/Just Link
7. I do not check Perform Laser Calibration
8. I DO check Don't repair SubChannel Data
9. I DO check always close last session
10. I hit ok
11. Clone cd looks like it is flushing buffers
12. Clone cd ejects my cd and says the following: Writing to LITE-ON LTR-12101B failed!

What is up!?

Anyone know? I am on the latest firmware LS38.

Thanks!

Why are you not checking "burnproof"? The Lite-On is a burnproof drive. Also, you may not want to set writing speed to max. Faster isn't always better, especially if you're trying to clone the CD.

I did not check burnproof because Clonecd says specifically that it does not support burnproof for this drive. I will try to lower the speed though.

There are several good generic CDRW troubleshooting guides on the net. Search Google and I am sure they will help you. I had some problems with mine and no one on this forum could tell me exactly how to fix it; I had to figure it out myself. That said you can try the following:

1) Read the FAQ at your drive makers site, it may have the solution
2) Write the image on the root directory of your hardrive, not buried in a folder
3) Set the CDRW to master and put it on another IDE channel from your main hard drive
4) Use an 80 conductor cable on the CDRW drive and hard drive
5) Don't touch anything (mouse, Keyboard) when it is trying to write
6) Defrag your hard drive
7) Run Norton Utilities windows doctor
8) If you have a via chipset and windows 2000, only install the busmaster driver, you don't need the other drivers in the 4 in 1 pack
9) Load the latest service pack for your Windows
