can't burn an audio cd using DAO! Lite-On 24x10x40...

my cousin just got the Lite-On 24x10x40 burner...i tested it a couple of days ago burning a full data cd using DAO and it burned under 4min...so i thought everything was working...

last night i tried burning a audio cd from mp3's using DAO and i kept getting an error message:

10:50:50 PM Burn process failed at 24x (3,600 KB/s) >>



what's wrong here? i had to go home so i couldn't really do anything more but has anyone had this happen before? i really don't think it's the burner because i was able to burn using TAO for the same audio cd just not DAO...and i did do DAO for a data cd...

Lite-On 24x10x40 using Nero OEM bundled (no serial number needed)...TIA
 
I have the same burner and have no problems using DAO at 24X. Unfortunately, I use Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 since I had problems with the Nero software after I installed it (it complained about some missing driver so I scragged it).

Sorry I can't help you further with Nero, but at least I can confirm DAO should work OK with the Lite-On.

I have this drive. What BIOS is on the Liteon? I'm running 5s57. I had some write errors running 5s54. Are you getting coasters? Have you tried different disks? What kind of disks are you running. Get and use freebie CDRIdentifier, if you don't know. You might try fiddling with some of the settings before you burn.
