My friend has aol and can connect just fine and do stuff within AOL but he cannot browse the web using IE or their internal browser. We a DNA error when we try to open a page. It's like we aren't conneted to the internet at all.

Any ideas on how to fix this.

Things i've tried.

remove everything from network connections, reload
upgrade to ie 5.5
upgrade to dx8.0a
run internet connection wizard
retore internet settings to default
clear cookies, cache, history
reinstall win98 over top itself.

I'm leaning towards it being a virus.

thanks

Try reinstalling the AOL software... This will also happen if you don't have the AOL dialup adapter installed in your network properties... Right click network neighborhood on your desktop, and click on properties... make sure there is an AOL dialup adapter installed.
