Can't boot with an Intel 750 SSD

Headline says it all. The PC fires up but never POSTs. It just shuts down, then 3-4 seconds later starts again, but never posts.

I've followed the instructions to use UEFI Only in BIOS and set the OS to Other as listed here:

No go.

I have a Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H motherboard, which Intel has certified as compatible. Any suggestions where to start?

How do I determine my UEFI BIOS? It does not give a version number beyond Gigabyte's own version.

I don't know which revision of that board you have. It is important to update the bios to latest F10 version for your revision.

Does it post without the NVME drive installed?

I have the latest BIOS rev, yes.

No it will not post with the NVME drive installed in any slot. It just starts up but the screen stays dark for about 15 seconds, then shuts down, waits 3-4 seconds, and starts up again. The monitor never comes on, I never get a beep from the mobo.

If you remove the drive will it post? Just want to make sure that the issue is actually the drive and not something else that has coincided with the attempt to use it.

Yes. If I remove the drive it fires right up. Put the drive back in any slot, nothing.
