"You will need a proper PCIe slot
You will need a proper Operating System
You will need a proper UEFI version
Overall the recommendations are simple, make sure you use Windows 8.1 or 10 and have a Z77/Z87/Z97/X79/X79 motherboards with the latest UEFI BIOS active."

"there is one more requirement if you want to boot from this device, an UEFI BIOS with build 2.3.1 or higher."

How do I determine my UEFI BIOS? It does not give a version number beyond Gigabyte's own version.

I have the latest BIOS rev, yes.

No it will not post with the NVME drive installed in any slot. It just starts up but the screen stays dark for about 15 seconds, then shuts down, waits 3-4 seconds, and starts up again. The monitor never comes on, I never get a beep from the mobo.

If you remove the drive will it post? Just want to make sure that the issue is actually the drive and not something else that has coincided with the attempt to use it.

Yes. If I remove the drive it fires right up. Put the drive back in any slot, nothing.
