Can't boot up on HD

I bought a new 100 gig WD from the Sams Club deal.....I had a 4 gig, 40 gig and 13 gig in there, right? So I tried every combination, and now I'm down to the 4 gig that I was booting off of.....it reports as primary master, good since there's nothing else in there connected, but then when it would usually start the OS, it says "remove disks or other devices" "hit any key to restart" or something like that. I'm pretty good with computers, but I don't know too much about the BIOS and what the errors mean. Not a big deal, since I'm leaving in an hour for home, and I doubt I'll be able to fix it by then. (I have so many hard drives cuz I'm selling the 30 and 13 gig, but I wanted to port over all the data. I have it backed up on my roommate's computer, which I'm on now, but now I can't even get on the network since the f*cking thing won't even boot.)

Any suggestions are very welcome. Other than that, I haven't slept for a day and a half, with my final this morning, wrote a paper from 10-3, and worried about this for an hour. So if you wanna flame, take your pathetic self to another thread. Thanx. ^_^

do u have the boot order right? i think it should go Floppy, CDROM, IDE or something like that....

just make sure it is actually getting to ur IDE drive..

Do you a master boot record on the drive you are trying to boot off of? If you just drag and drop files, you won't get a bootable disk. I'm assuming the 4 gig was not your C drive to begin with...

Actually, the 4 gigger was my original boot drive, since I was upgrading a lot of XP stuff this summer and fall, I didn't want to bother with having my data on the same drive, so I had the 4 gig as the boot drive, 30 gig as main storage and the 13 gig as old MP3's.

I won't be able to fix it til the first week of January, since I won' be back til then, but I was just wondering if anybody knew what was wrong. Oh well. Happy Holidays everyone.
