Can't boot after installing zip software on XP

I just installed my 2 year old Iomega software over Windows Home XP. When I rebooted, got blue Windows "stop error screen". Now can't reboot - even to safe mode.

I had downloaded the updated software from the Iomega site. The drive worked but I could never figure out what replaced my original "one step backup" software. I'm still not clear on that.

For now, I'd be happy with advice on how to get throught the blue stop error screen without having to reinstall windows. Thanks greatly for any advice. Ron
