14.8/13.5 depending upon engine for the crossfire. not that great for a "sports" car.

2003 civic LX does it in 17.8

and your telling me a 20 hp boost equates to a 4 second drop in the quarter mile?????

MIKE

Not like GM does it much better for a sports car:

2004 Pontiac GTO 5.3 13.62
2005 Pontiac GTO 4.8 13.30

:p

from a lil research it looks like that site is a lil on the high side of speeds. foung 13.35 for the SRT6 elsewhere.

i never said they did.

but then you have to look at their real sports car the vette. and yes i know you will say viper. both those cars are the definition of sports car.

Point taken. I guess I have the issue with you calling the Crossfire a "sports car". (or was it someone else who did?) I wouldn't call a Camaro or a Mustang a sports car, much less a Crossfire.

I agree. the Crossfire is a touring car.

Seriously. I mean that 300C which uses E-class transmissions and suspension components are pure trash. :p

Daimler is doing great things with Chrysler and raiding the parts bin helps decrease costs.

Every single dodge I owned was a piece of crap. Every dodge my parents owned is a piece of crap. Every dodge everybody I've ever known is a piece of crap.
What would make me believe this car is any different?

I Own two dodges and they both have 90K+

Both run fine and I have never had any major issues.

I own a 1993 Dodge with 181,000 miles and it runs great !

And 175hp to the wheels! Woooooooooahhh! Lets see, it probably hits 175hp at about 7000 RPM right? That makes your torque 131 lb-ft. Scary.

Its at about 9200 RPM. Besides, my Civic is just 1 of 3 cars I own. Its not the speed demon, that I can assure you. But I guarentee it will blow away one of these crossfire's with a measly 215 Hp, which would probably put about the same amount of power to the ground as my Honda (HP wise), when I can beat a Pontiac GTP with 240 Hp. And many other cars with much higher HP ratings.

Hell, my Blazer would spank one of these crossfires. And I'll badmouth whatever the hell vehicle I wish thanks. :p

The Crossfire runs a quarter mile in about 14.8 sec. Your Blazer is faster, huh?

I'd be willing to bet on it, yes. I've never ran the Blazer though, so I wouldn't know. BTW, the blazer initially had the 4.3L V-6 which I've since replaced with a 350 V-8. Haven't done all the work I'm going to on it yet though, it would probably be close.

I think my Honda would definetely beat that time though, since it does it in 15.7. But I'm not sure since the NHRA Elevation calculator I found HERE only goes to 5500. I live in Denver and run at Bandimere speedway which is 5800-ft above sea level. I've always been told it was a full second, but after looking at the chart, it might be a little less then a full second puting me right around that same 14.8 number. So assuming that 14.8 is sea level for the Crossfire, then it would be very close indeed. I'm willing to bet my Honda would do a slightly better time

BTW, HERE is a cool chart to look 1/4 times up on. It seems pretty accurate because I verified that 14.8 time on the crossfire some other places as well. Just thought it was a cool find.

Err wow, 15.7! RSXs run high 16s to mid 17s stock.. and Mustang GTs are running it in the 14s stock.

I love how you brag your Blazer is faster than a Crossfire and then when you are called on it, you then say your Blazer is modified. I'm sure many modified cars are faster than a stock Crossfire, but that proves nothing other than you are desperate to knock the Crossfire at any cost, even if it makes you look like a complete idiot.

Hi buddy,

You're a real freaking smart ass, yes I know that the Civic SIRs are based on the same K20a2 engine that is in the RSX Base engine. Yes I'm aware that the RSX is simply an American rebadging of the Honda Integra from Asia.

Before you run your 'motor' mouth anymore (no pun intended), unless you have an engine swap, you're car isn't 1.6 litres.. rather it's the 2.0l 160HP Civic SIR which dynos stock at about 128HP at the wheels.

Anyhow, I don't care that your civic beats Type Rs, or that it revs to 9500RPM, the fact is that my RSX is Turbo'd and dynos at 275HP @ the ground, so your 175 is paltry.

I mean, what type of comparison is that, a modded car even if it had fewer horse power than another car stock would obviously beat the stock car due to aftermarket improvements.

Regardless, if I wanted a FAST car I'd take my supercharged jaguar which has a shocking 225 HP more than your civic does.

As far as German cars lacking in the mechanical department, I suggest that you take a look at some of the engines in their cars. The Mclaren is partly mercedes engineered, so are land rovers, and on and on EVEN Chryslers.

Just because japanese and korean cars can get alot of horsepower out of an engine the size of a pop bottle, they are still significantly behind in other aspects. Compare a STOCK Japanese supercar to an Italian Supercar, or even a midrange German sports car (porsche carrera 911 or a bmw m5) which are roughly in the same pricebracket MSRP.

Anyhow, I'm not another ill informed ATOT punk, and you're a typical moody jerk that spends way to much time under the hood of your vehicle, or infront of the computer screen.

The END.
