You drive a Civic, I really don't think you should be bad-mouthing any vehicle, other than it having too much personality for you.
And 175hp to the wheels! Woooooooooahhh! Lets see, it probably hits 175hp at about 7000 RPM right? That makes your torque 131 lb-ft. Scary.
Its at about 9200 RPM. Besides, my Civic is just 1 of 3 cars I own. Its not the speed demon, that I can assure you. But I guarentee it will blow away one of these crossfire's with a measly 215 Hp, which would probably put about the same amount of power to the ground as my Honda (HP wise), when I can beat a Pontiac GTP with 240 Hp. And many other cars with much higher HP ratings.
Hell, my Blazer would spank one of these crossfires. And I'll badmouth whatever the hell vehicle I wish thanks.
The Crossfire runs a quarter mile in about 14.8 sec. Your Blazer is faster, huh?
I'd be willing to bet on it, yes. I've never ran the Blazer though, so I wouldn't know. BTW, the blazer initially had the 4.3L V-6 which I've since replaced with a 350 V-8. Haven't done all the work I'm going to on it yet though, it would probably be close.
I think my Honda would definetely beat that time though, since it does it in 15.7. But I'm not sure since the NHRA Elevation calculator I found
HERE only goes to 5500. I live in Denver and run at Bandimere speedway which is 5800-ft above sea level. I've always been told it was a full second, but after looking at the chart, it might be a little less then a full second puting me right around that same 14.8 number. So assuming that 14.8 is sea level for the Crossfire, then it would be very close indeed. I'm willing to bet my Honda would do a slightly better time
BTW,
HERE is a cool chart to look 1/4 times up on. It seems pretty accurate because I verified that 14.8 time on the crossfire some other places as well. Just thought it was a cool find.
