It would have been decent of him to do it without asking for a reward, but it would have been also decent to offer him a reward.

Hey, if you don't want to give the reward, just call police and report the phone stolen. Say you know who has it, and..........

Either that or... promise him the $30.00 and then when you go to pick up the phone you can kick him in the azz for being a jerk.

Or pick up the phone with the police in tow, since he is now selling property that does not belong to him.

🙂

I'd definately call the police. He should NOT be rewarded for his actions.

I think this is probly what im going to do. He did tell me he would be working downtown all week and I could come down and get it so I might go down there with a few people and try and reason with him and get the phone back. If that dosnt work the police are going to have to be called.

i would record the conversations, offer him up to like 100$ or something and then go to the police and tell them that someone stole your phone and is now holding it for ransom.

i would call the cops

agree with whatever he wants

meet him

have 3-4 big friends hiding nearby

when he pulls out the phone, tell him you changed your mind and would like the phone back and he gets $0

if he doesn't comply , have one friend dial 911 while the other grab him

when the police arrive, he is a phone thief and gets arrrested

phone would be pretty useless to him after you reported it stolen...wouldnt the carrier flag the eid number so that it couldnt vbe activated?

bah,
what a tool. I've found several phones and i called the people in the phone book in every case. The kids are usually very thankfull and offer money, which i politely decline 🙂

refuse his offer.

go on national tv, and offer $100 bucks to whoever gets your phone back in one piece.

then do not sleep or rest until you get your phone back.

beware of crooked cops too.

Don't bother with beating this guy up or meeting him to talk, go straight to the cops now, and ask them what to do.

You don't know this guy, and when you meet to get your phone, even if you intend to give him $30-$50 bucks, he could end up robbing you.
He's dishonest.

tell him you'll give him the 30 bucks... then take the phone and leave.. if there's any problems just call the cops....

he doesnt deserve a reward for finding a phone..... i've found about 10 on the side of the road walking (all smashed and busted aka: not working) but had they been working i would have returned the phone once i found out who it belonged to

he has your phone, I don't think he can demand your ransom. Tell him you would like to meet him at his place so you have his address then call the cops.
