Last night was my friends birthday and we all went downtown to the club and in the middle of all the madness (drunkenness, numorous fights) I managed to lose my cell phone. I just tried calling it and some guy picked up and said he found it. He did say he would like a reward and I think im going to give him $20. Nice to know theres still some decent people out there.

It turns out this guy is a total idiot and this is going to be alot harder then I had anticipated. When I called him earlier I talked to him briefly and other then the reward request he seemed ok. Well he now has demanded $30 or he told me he will sell the phone for more. I have since cancelled my phone and I'm still contemplating on what im going to do. What he is doing is clearly illegal, will the police be able to help me if I call them?

I guess so, but if this guy is going to save me however much money by giving me my phone back I dont mind losing a little bit. Had I been the one to find a cell phone I would have done the same and waited for the owner to call but I wouldnt out right ask for a reward.

Yeah, surprise surprise. I found a phone on the road...called a guy and found out that it belonged to this guys partner who was also a dentist. DROVE IT TO HIM....OUT OF MY WAY... barely got a thank you as I was leaving. Yuppies.

I don't know about you but if I had found the cellphone I would just return it to the owner if he called. I wouldn't ask for a reward and if he tried to give me one, I would refuse. It isn't my cell phone to begin with, I don't see why I should get anything for doing the right thing.

If he wanted to buy me lunch then sure, but I wouldn't accept a monetary reward.
