They openned 6 new realms since last night and none of them is a East Coast PvP server :( I'm only renewing my account if that condition is met!

That server was flagged as one of the recommended servers for new players on the realm selection screen I believe. Also, I think Blizzard is artifically inflating the queue times and player limits on some servers to stop the new players who got WoW from Christmas from making characters there, so the population will be more normalized.

Just don't renew at all. It's so much better, World of Warcrack takes over your life.

Blizzard's handling of this game is so godawful it's near unplayable at times - matter of fact, my server just died an hour or two ago after a huge bout with lag. And you're complaining about what is essentially nothing?

Edit: The average WoW kiddie is playing on a Celeron based PC over an 'AOL-optimized' dialup connection, with hundreds of MB of bloatware running in the background, and probably hundreds more of spyware & adware. Whatever miniscule (and likely imagined) difference a small ping disparity makes would be negated many times over by this.

I agree. I quit playing WoW a long time ago. The constant downtime on the servers, their downright terrible support, and an outrageous price ($15/month?!), completely kills this game.

I cant even log on right now. We had just fought our way to the room of the epic shaman quest in WoW, an awesome druid helm dropped and it crashed before he could loot it.

Agree about everything except the monthly fee (though I do think it should command a better & more lag-free experience - something it does in other MMORPGs). Monthly fees are an MMORPG standard and are necessary to fuel the unique experience of these games. WoW's cost ($12-$15 per month, depending on how long a subscription you buy) is in line with other MMORPGs'.

Wow, i can't believe it's been over a year since the games releases, and they're still having queue problems.

Unfortunately the queues aren't considered a problem, but rather a solution :( Hurry up Brad!

Yeah, i guess you're right. They're still growing even though this 'problem' still exists.

The queue isn't for full servers player-wise... it's for servers which are otherwise busy processing something so you can say the queue is artificial - to lighten the load.

<-- WoW n00b who's been reading a lot.

If this is because of server-time being correct with your time, I believe there is a UI mod you can get which fixes this.

If it's for lag issues, I'm not 100% sure, but aren't ALL their US servers located on the west coast anyway?

They have both East and West coast server farms I believe... during beta WoW was offline for a period of time because one of their server centers took a hit from one of the hurricanes and some hardware was damaged. I don't believe though that the server time has anything to do with its physical location within the US... you shouldn't have any more lag playing on a PST server than you do on an EST server, and you certainly shouldn't have any more lag playing on a CST server. It's not like your internet provider has all of your traffic routed exactly perfectly by your geographic location.... sites in mid-america are not going to have any more latency than sites across the street from you in most cases.
