Cant activate XP.....AH

ugh, so I bought an OEM Xp Home from newegg to install on my new PC. I go to activate it (plugged into my cable modem network, internet works fine) and it tells me to check my internet connection because it cant find one! So I take it to my friends house and hook up w/ 56k, it STILL says that. Why cant i activate windows?! I only have 15 days left to.

choose the phone option ..its very easy..toll-free 1-800 # and is usually just punching in a set of numbers..gl 🙂

Yes, the phone option will get you a computer generated 'voice' that will give you the activation number.

is it all automated? I was under the impression that they actually let you talk to a customer service rep.

In my experience, the only time you need to talk to a rep is if there is a problem - too many activations or whatever.
