Can't access workgroup

I have a home network with 3 computers on it (4 if a laptop decides to join the fun). This computer I am on now is set up to be in the workgroup "Home", as are the others. For some reason, however, when I try to browse the network, it shows nothing - when I click on the "Home" workgroup icon, it says something about

Home is not accesible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the Administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The remote server has been paused or is in the process of being started.

What does this mean, and how can I fix it? This has occured with the aforementioned laptop, also 😕

do you have a firewall...example......norton, windows, zone alarm.....etc........

No firewall active.
