Can't access all of RAID 5 array

This one has me stumped, for some reason I can only access the first 2TB of my 2.7 TB RAID 5 array on my server (specs in sig). I have gone through the Intel Management console and initialized the RAID 5 array after I set it up in the configuration utility. The Intel controller is set to RAID and the Marvell controller (has a non RAID drive & my DVD-ROM drive) is set to AHCI. Windows sees the full 2.7TB but it has it broken up so that there's a 2TB partition and a 700GB partition. I can format the 2TB partition but I can't do anything with the 700GB of unallocated space at all. Do I have something installed incorrectly or did I do something wrong? This is a fresh install of Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard, here's the process I followed:

  • Booted into BIOS and set the Intel controller to RAID and the Marvell to AHCI
  • Only hooked up the SSD and the DVD-ROM drive and installed Windows Server 2008 R2
  • Installed all of the updates
  • Installed all of the necessary drivers (rebooting as needed)
  • Shutdown the server
  • Installed the drives and hooked them into the Intel controller
  • Brought up the Intel RAID config utility (ctrl + I)
  • Setup a new RAID 5 array
  • Booted into Windows Server and initialized the array through the Intel Management console
  • Rebooted
  • Went into the Disk Management snap in and that's where I'm at
Is there anything that I can do to fix this? I'm thinking diskpart might be able to help but I'm not sure which commands could fix this issue.

can you 'right click' on the 700gb and 'initialize' the space? Maybe provide a screenshot of the Disk Management screen so we can visualize better?

Sure, here's the disk management snap in:

And here's the IRST console:

Have to change the partition scheme from MBR to GPT for data drives over 2.2TB

So you will have to delete the current 2TB partition, select the drive to the left of the empty partition, select convert to GPT disk, then you can format a full partition
