For some reason, my users cannot hit a webpage that one of our consultants is directing us to for downloading documents from their website. Here is the error that is generated:
You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied because your Web browser is sending a WWW-Authenticate header field that the Web server is not configured to accept.
HTTP Error 401.2 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to server configuration.
Internet Information Services (IIS)
The first thing I knew to check was the IE security settings, to make sure that the user is prompted for username and password, rather than attempting anonymous login. This made no difference.

Can anyone advise? Thanks.

Hmm. Great link, but I don't think that's the problem. The authentication for the site in question doesn't occur in the URL of the site.

You are paying this consultant, so consult with them. Get them onsite and get them to try to access the site.
