Um...yes.

I have had my Canon S30 for 3 years while I have replaced my computer 3 times. Its still a great cam for the money. And who prints 8x10s? or 30x40s for that matter?

Higher the megapixel, the larger you can blow up the pictures before losing image quality. Just depends on what you need/want.

I would say that this is pretty hot. I have owned several digital cameras, and Canon is one of the best. As you increase megapixels above 4 megapixels, the detail becomes amazing!

Also available at BuyDig.com for $426.69 with free shipping. I've purchased from Onecall and Buydig and I'd recommend them both.

i bought my s3 right when it came out for like $650ish. great camera... i can only imagine how amazing the s7 is.

So Chris, the only thing keeping me from purchasing the S series the lens cover. I played with a few floor models and if you try to slide the cover a little hard at times, it'll jump the lock and kinda dislocate. I'm about to buy a G6 or Pro1, but still trying to find a reason to save 200 bucks to stick with the S. What's your experience?

i treat my camera very well... ive only had it 'hop' the lock 2 or 3 times since ive had it. you just have to be aware of the problem and not slam the cover shut. be gentle ;p

plus it fits in pants or a jacket pocket... don't think you can get a g6 or pro1 in a pocket very easily.

Its not just the megapixels, its the speed of the camera as well.

I had an S40 and upgraded recently to the S60 (damn you Canon for coming out with the S70 1 month later) and despite the pixel increase, the biggest improvement is the speed of the camera. My old camera felt like a Pentium 3 compared to my Athlon64 S70. It starts up faster, takes the picture faster and has a much better flash.

That's good to know! I have the S45 and considering this or....maybe DSLR. Another thought on megapixels: the larger the MP, the more room for error (crop and still end up with a high quality image).

[must wait for Dell deal]

Overall the s70 really isnt a bad camera and I love how compact it is, but it has this nasty issue with red eye. I think I like my new Kodak 7590 better, even if it is only a 5mp camera.

Good point. Hey I was just too tempted to put some abuse to floor models to see how tough they are. Ah, tough decision now.... Hard to pass on the G6 for its F2.0 lens...
