I dunno what the movie mode is like on the S70, but I have the S1, and you can take 640x480 video (the same resolution at digital camcorder does) for up to 8 minutes, if you have a large enough card. I think you can also record up to an hour at lower resolutions, though I rarely use those. You can also zoom in and out while recording in movie mode, which the Powershot A70 and A40 I had wouldn't let you do.
 
cool feature then, it's basically like a digital camcorder. I hate digicam only can record like 30 seconds video (my optio s does that :thumbsdown😉. thanks nikko
 
now if they come out with an elph with 7.1..mmmmmm...I had the S100 (2MP) and switched to the S45 (4MP) and wish I had my elph back...nothing beats the size of that baby...
