The ONLy feature lacking is optical zoom. . . . 😉

So what do you guys think...

I want to get my girlfriend a one year anniversary gift and am thinking about getting this camera. She wants a really good one and wants one that she can bring the memory card to the local Walgreens and have printed (4 x 6's) when she wants a hard copy.

She's not as picky as me (I always want the best), but think this will work well as a camera for her?

Also, I'm going to get the 256mb complact flash for $16 after a $20 rebate

I think this is a big misconception that gets repeated everywhere. A 2 megapixel camera can take fine 8x10 shots.

I have a Sony Mavica 2.0mp and I have a beautiful 8x10 of my daughter. I have taken several shots that I printed at 8x10, and they are all very nice.

And I agree with the point above - how often are you going to print an 8x10? When can you not get by with a 5x7?

I'd take the A60 any day of the week. IMO, people get caught up in megapixels and forget about other important features (like optical zoom).
