Only problem I see is that the toner cartridge costs as much as the whole copier. If it didn't say it came with a "starter" cartridge I'd suggest just buying multiple copiers instead of another toner cartridge.

I picked one of these up for $99 from quill.com . . . it does the trick and there is no warm up time. Definetely worth the money and definetely good for photocopying rebates and receipts for your own records

Update: Got the copier, only comes with 3 month warranty and NO cartridge. Called Canon to confirm this. Called Staples and the first CSR said she knew about the problem and would pick it up but not offer the 3 year warranty or throw in the cartridge (which is 100 bucks on their site). Told her I'd think about it, then called again. Different CSR said they would call me back about a free cartridge tomorrow...
Looks like they're gonna have to pick this up.

$20 bucks for a decent copier. I have the PC420, it's limited in its capabilities, but I got it for 3 bucks, and it has more than paid for itself.

I belive that the UPC codes for refrubished and new items may not be the same.
They will probably know if you send the refrubished UPC for rebate.

IMHO, i think it's better to buy the visioneer scanner from staples for $10 after rebate and use yo own printer to make copies...... it takes about the same amount of time i think cuz last time i used one of those i had enuf time for me to take a shower while it was copying....

eLuminati, I called Staples.com twice, both CSR's said they are not responsible for any typo and would not provide any cartridge. Please let me know your result & if possible, the CSR your talked with. I saved the Staple web page which contains misleading information. I will probably dispute the charge if they don't give me a satisfied answer. Thanks!

folks, the PC420 is on sale for $99.99 with a cartridge at both Office Depot and at Office Max B&M. It is the same as the 430, but without legal size copying capacity, which most don't need anyway. Much better deal, especially with the starter cartridge included (1000 copies).

update: called today after they didn't call me back yest. They will ship a "starter" cartridge to those who bought the PC430. He specifically mentioned starter so I don't think we'll get the 100 dollar normal ones. As for the warranty, he said the site says 90 days. But of course it said 3 years when I ordered it. He said he could not do much except a 10 dollar coupon. I said, I'll pass.
