I never imagined I'd have my own copy machine, but here's a deal I just couldn't resist. It's the Canon PC420 Personal Copier (sku 424462) for $199.98 at Staples. This is a letter size copier. They also have the PC430 (sku 933491) which will copy up to legal size for $299.99. There is a $50 rebate on the PC430. Delivery is free on these since it's $50+ order. See below for the $40 off discount. You'll need to buy something cheap to bring the PC420 over $200, ie staples, rubber bands, pens, erasers, or copy paper.

Wow, that would be a heck of a deal. Did you see that in the store, was is a floor model? I don't see the PC420 on the Office Depot website, though they have the PC430 but it's $299.99 as well.

Thanks, this is a great deal. Buy.com has the PC420 for $233.99. So for $160 shipped with the $40 off $200 Staples coupon it's definitely a great deal!

OD & OM had the PC420 on sale for $100 several weeks ago. Not sure if they will have them on sale again or if they are clearing them out. Might want to keep an eye out for them. I was surprised at the quality of the copies I can make with this machine. It's as good if not better than the copies I made at Kinko's for all my rebate stuff.

Does Staples do a PM from Quill? If so, PM staples, buy something small and use a dollar off $100 coupon.

Anyone tried this?

I just called Staples. They are out of stock on this item (I called a few times just to make sure). They suggested that I try in a few days. Anyone know if any other online suppliers do PMs.

Thanks in advance.

This was a Staples Clearance Item two weeks ago, they had it advertised for $199.99 - $100.00 coupon code found in weekly advertisements.

I got in on the deal, used the $30/100 coupon, so got it for $70... the Only downfall of this copy machine, is that the Toner Cartridge is just as expensive as the machine itself, if not more expensive. The included cartridge w/ the machine only allows half of what its capable.. basically its a demo cartridge.

So, its a good deal.. but expect to pay $80+ for the cartridge.

A major auction site has them for under $50. As of 1/31/01, I did not see any up for bid, but we may be able to purchase this outside of the Canon's retail pricing.

But even if it is $80, think of it as the cost of a laser printer cartridge. I wonder if Canon provides "refurb" cartridges... ???

I was going to get one for my dad ($100 at OD) but the replacement cartridges were $90. Seems like it'd be cheaper to use the OD copiers than this :)

and this thing is slooooooow. Don't expect it copys crazily like the machine in your office. I was considering it when all the office stores (OD, OM, Staples) had it for $99, but when I saw the actual machine, I gave up.

Four pages a minute. If you're gonna write your own underground zine, go work in a corporate mail room or Kinko's. This thing is great! I'm gonna make copies of rebates, office store ads to price match... Its so convenient too!

Not sure if anyone took advantage of this deal when I had posted it earlier.

Canon PC420 Post

I actually got this copier for $13.15, In the beginning of the year Canon had a $50 rebate on this copier on their site. They made a mistake by having a rebate on the PC420 instead of the PC430. I called and talked to the CSR at Canon, and they gave my $50. Can't complain about performance for 13 bucks.

Yesterday I saw post at hot deals forum about copier machine for $99.99 at quill.com so instead of dealing with quill.com, I placed order at staples.com they had it for 199.99 I used 30 off coupon off $100 order and then placed another order and used different coupon number and then separately called staples to get pricematch adjustment. They did it with no problems total for each order was $75.xx and told it will be delivered today. I just checked order status it said cancelled so I called CS to find out why she said it's a problem with discover card. I called discover card they said there is no problems at all with my account any charges should go through fine. I called staples CS again rep now didnt say it was problem with discover card , she said she cant answer why order was cancelled and hang up. I called again and some guy told me to hold on while he reads notes on my order. He told me they restricted my staples account because I use coupons and pricematches on every single order, and i can only shop now at their stores. how should i handle this matter, I tried to reach corporate office but was not able to reach anyone there. If they dont want customers who use coupons and pricematches, they should remove pricematch policy and not issue coupons. I think I should contact MA Attorney General and Consumer Affairs for them to make full investigation on this and I beleive I have case to take staples to court.
