OK, here's the deal:

Low-end Fax/Printer/Scanner/Copier combo

Call Staples and tell them you want a Canon Multipass C530 (SKU 395926) and you want to pricematch with samsclub.com, which has it for $159.98. Staples is currently running a $70 rebate on this printer as well.

Summary:
Canon Multipass C530 $159.98 (pricematch)
coupon -40.00 (from wherever you get these things)
tax +7.20 (at least around here)
rebate -70.00 (from staplesrebates.com)
Total $57.79 (depending on tax, YMMV)

Not a great machine but maybe a good alternative for those us who need a cheap plain paper fax and missed the SharpUX355 last week.
I sure wish it was a laser.

BTW - Following the Staples rebate link doesn't show the $ 70.00 rebate. Is it gone ?

It's still there. Just go to staplesrebates.com and search for all rebates for Canon. It does expire on 12/16, though...

I don't find this at Samsclub.com. Link?

I searched for Canon and C530. This is a great deal, cheap.

1. The rebate doesn't expire until 12/16. Go to staplesrebates.com and search for the sku. Two rebates will pop up, one expired in November, the other on 12/16.

2. I can't get a link to samsclub.com without my sessionid. Do an "online product search" on multipass, and the first item on the list will be the C530

unfortunately staples only has this item 3-5 days shipped, so i couldn't use the rebate. so i didn't get as far as the pricematch myself, but there appears to be a discrepency between the pictures. The pic on SamsClub is the same pic as Staples has for its C545 Multipass. The C530 on Staples looks totally different. I don't know whether a CSR from staples would pick up on that, or not, but be prepared for that argument -- i.e. try and correllate manufacturer numbers (Staples doesn't post theirs, so make the CSR give the number to you first, so they can't switch it after you tell them!;))
goodluck

P.S. Oh yeah, my local B&M Staples has the C530 in stock for 199.99 , but Sam's Club isn't answering the phone right now for me to look at a local pricematch...and then i'd be out of the nice $40 off $150 (Raju you find such coupons codes at site like: techbargains_com...replace the underscore, of course. For other simlilar sites just click on the "Community" button and it'll give you some other links).

I finally got the printer from staples for $129-$70 rebate, hopefully i'll get the rebate. But it was crazy getting this printer, it took me about 70 minutes with the staples CR to veryify the product. But i guess it was worth it. Thanx ya'll.

heh, yeah took me around an hour myself... my CSR tried to call SamsClub and then came back and told me that he couldn't pricematch because Sam's Club CSR's were unable to get info on product shipping costs and my CSR also said that the site was for members only, so it wasn't possible to verify the price match. I (NICELY!) explained that i was a member of sam's club (i sorta am -- get stuff there thru my parents' account) and that pricematching was according to what was available for me as the customer -- not what was available to CSR's at Staples. Anyway, he agreed to tack on a $5.00 standard fee for comparable shipping (tho i doubt it'll get here on time w/all this ice!). Anyway, it was pleasant but definitely took some time and sticking to my guns. GOod deal, i think!
