Canon IP3000 Printer $29.99 After PM & Rebate

I accidently tripped across a hot deal on the Canon ip3000 at Office Max today. I priced matched to Staples who had it for 79.99 - then much to my suprise a $50 rebate printed out at checkout. After rebate it will be $29.99 plus tax on $79.99 - about $37.XX bucks. I was just going for the $20 price match and got a real bonus.

I don't think this printer comes with a USB cable. I ordered mine from Staples and it didn't come with one either.

Well you don't need to price match if Officemax is out of the Canon i475. The IP3000 is on the substitute list for the i475 which was advertised through today at $29.99 ($79.99 - 50MIR)

Fry's had it for black friday. Was supposed to be $79.99 + $50 rebate, for some reason it rung up at 69.99 + $50 rebate for me 😀. Score!

I thought that was a IP2000?

Ya... I know. Today, I bought it at Fry's. BEWARE: THOSES BASTARDS DID NOT INCLUDE USB CABLE IN THIS PRINTER. 🙁

I've never bought a USB printer that had a USB cable included. That includes an Epson 980, an Epson 875 DC, an Epson 670, 60, 62, 2-64's and a 66. I also never had a parallel port printer with a cable included, and those included HP's and Canons. They are always extra as far as I know.

If you purchase printers from bulk retailers like CostCo...they come with the cable. But the model of the printer is slightly different than the ones you see in Staples or OfficeMax because of the addition of the USB cable.

The only printer that did come with the cable was the CX5400 (that comes to my mind at least).

It was... and $19.99 was actually the correct price for it. Here is my post from the Fry's BF thread...

The Canon PIXMA IP2000 printer says $79.99 - $50 = $29.99 in the ad... but there is some fine print around it stating that you save an additional $10, and that the $29.99 listed is the price before those savings are applied. So the final price on the printer is actually $79.99 - $10 IR - $50 MIR = $19.99. Making it pretty damn hot for a new printer I think, especially a Canon PIXMA. I would have picked it up myself while I was there, had I not already gotten the Canon i475D printer for $19.99 from OfficeMax a couple weeks back.

Yep, the Canon i475D I got didn't come with one either so I picked up a 10 ft. USB 2.0 cable for $1.00 + $1.00 shipping = $2.00 shipped from here... got it in a couple days and works great. 😎 (Choose the cheapest shipping method and then mention you saw it on Pricewatch in the comments area when you order to get the shipping adjusted to $1.00)

Exactly. I've owned many printers and the only ones I have seen with cables were the special packaged ones from sam's, etc.

Just got back from Office Max.

Printer was $99.99 - $10IR - $50MIR - $20 Gift Card + tax. In the end I get it for $26.95 after tax.

Went ahead and picked one up even though I have one. I figured it would be cheaper for the ink and the print-head. Or, I'll give it as a gift. Price was too good to pass up.
