Canon Introduces Three New Digicams: PowerShot G3, S45, and IXUS S230

Proving what level of photographer that I am, I was far more interested in the announcement of the S230 than I was the other two.

Ah. I see that you changed the title of the thread.

I love my S110, but I tend to enlarge the better shots on it and at 8x10, it's fairly obvious that it's a 2MP camera. A 3MP version with a better flash, and, ideally, a faster lens would be perfect (addressing my only complaints with the S110). As it is, I'd settle for just a 3MP version though. It's nice having a camera that fits comfortably in my jeans pocket.

The differences between the G2 and G3 are few. They both use the same 4.0mpx CCD. I do like the new body on the G3, though.

Edit: The G2 has a 3x F2.0-2.8 lens.

Elfenix, click on the camera picture for more detailed specs.

It's 4MP.

The 4Megapixel CCD sensor ensures the best image quality at the highest resolution and the DIGIC processor gives improved shadow and highlight details for even better quality images. Now the highest quality RAW mode is accessible even when shooting in JPEG. Immediately after taking a shot the image is displayed on the LCD, simply press the camera's function button and you can change to store the file as RAW, offering more options for highest quality processing on the computer.

heh, silly me didn't think of clicking on it 😛

i'm guessing the lens is just as wide and goes slightly longer... same glass? well it does say "all new" so it shouldn't be the same glass.
