Canon imageCLASS D480 $99 AR or less AC @ Staples

Canon imageCLASS D480 full duplex (scan/copy/print) network laser printer/scanner/copier/fax.

I'd imagine one can also use a $25 off $75 or $30 off $150 coupon (e.g., from e-junkie for ~$2-3) to make this deal even sweeter. I've never seen this printer go below $200, let alone below $100 of many months of watching.

Any feedback on this model?

Looks like a great deal (esp. w/coupon purchase), but I've heard that some other Canon ImageCLASS units had reduced functionality over the network (i.e. network scans were B&W only).

EDIT: Looks like a there's a limit of 10 for this rebate (unless I'm reading incorrectly).

amazon.com feedback
newegg.com feedback

There isn't lot of feedback, as not many people are buying this model as it almost never goes below $200, let alone $100. My feedback about it would be:
* network scanning is kinda slow (but there's USB connection too)
* I don't like look&feel of Canon Windows software, but then I'm not using it, b/c I'm primarily a Linux person 😉
* other than the above this is a great fast network printer with double-sided printing, that also doubles a scanner/copier and fax

Will a $30 off #150 count as "any other offer/promotion?"

From the rebate form: "This offer cannot be combined with any other offer/promotion. Serial Number Required here:_______________________."

Thanks greg. Got the printer for 70 bucks. That is if the rebate comes and that's a hefty 150.00 rebate. But since it's a staples one I think it will be ok.

I bought my brother laser printer for 50 bucks and I think the toner is getting low so. This will be a great addition! 😀

Thanks.

Must have purchased at the same time I did.

I had it in my cart, and my total wash showing $233 (tax included), but my order confirmation shows $265.

I think the other two have already been taken; I may have to cancel and buy a coupon via eJunkie later.

OOOppps, that doesn't look good. I dunno, 150 bucks is a lot of cash to risk on a 30 dollar coupon.

Good catch! Glad I had it picked up at the store selected and not shipped to me. I can just get a refund back onto my card by canceling my order on line. Won't have to ship it back.

I'm gonna call and ask them.

I called two different CSRs and they said that the dollars off coupons DO NOT affect rebates and do not count as a promotion. However, I suggest getting it in writing via email in case bad things happen (as I did from staples). And remember - SEND REBATES VIA CERTIFIED MAIL!

From my email:

I appreciate the time you have taken to contact Staples, Greg.

I received your message inquiring on if the Staples $150 mail in rebate would still qualify on your
delivery order.

Upon looking into your order I do not see why it would not qualify. The coupon that you applied on
your order will not affect your rebate. Once you receive the products and submit your rebate you
will still receive the $150 check in mail within 2 weeks.

If you have any further questions I have included all the necessary information for you to contact
the Staples Rebate Department directly.

OOS online. I got one from my local Staples, but it was listed for $349 - $150 rebate = $199 in the store.

I asked nicely and the manager took off the extra $100 listed in the online deal. YMMV though, their price match, even too internal stores says must be in stock. He didn't have to since it is OOS.

Yeah, for 150 bucks certified for 85 cents or whatever it costs is a must!

I arrived at the same answer you did so I went down and picked up the printer. I'm going to send the stuff in tomorrow. Hopefully the 150 comes back. If it goes through this might be the hot deal of a year! 70 bucks before taxes for a 350 dollar printer.

😀

How cheap are the toners and how many pages do they yield?
If toners are excessively expensive, and the sensors cannot be tricked or hacked to print more...

That's a BIG ass rebate.
