Thanks dartworth. Perfect Xmas gift for the misses. I had been considering inkjet AIO printers, but this will work out much better and at a great price !

Picked one up for 120 using my 30 off 150 coupon. Now I can dump my scanner and fax machine. Thanks OP

I see, as usual on the low end, this guy doesn't support network scanning. I can live without that.

Two questions:

1. Anybody know if it'll work with a cheap USB network interface? I see it works with an AXIS 1650, but that network interface is a $172 one. Ahem. I have an el cheapo D-Link, and if I could get it to print thru that, it would be cool

2. How are the Canon drivers for sheer size and hatefulness? I have an older HP D135 (a four year old hot deal one which cost me $90, but whose printheads have dried out, and which would cost about $160 to restore, and then we have the subject of the ink cartridges) and the HP drivers are Mr Creosote, bringing my Athlon 2200 running XP with 512K of RAM to its knees. The current network printer is an HP Laserjet 5, an energy hog. Would I need the Canon drivers running on my other networked computers to make printing work?

Any help is appreciated.

Went to Canon's website and compared the two units. (MF 4150 and MF 5770 from earlier Hot Deals offer)
(Not sure if this link will work or not)
http://www.usa.canon.com/consu...=11147&modelid12=14444

Basically, very similar units...same print speeds, same resolutions, (although it lists the 4150 as having 24 bit color depth :roll🙂 the biggest difference appears to be in sze...4150-15.4x16.8x17.7/15.4x18.5x17.7 (extended) vs. the 5770 at 19.1x18.8x20.0/19.1x18.8x17.4 (without attachments)

Various reviews seem to give them similar ratings for text quality, speeds, etc.

I called 4 OM's and no one has any idea there's a sale on them LOL.

So the stocks in all the stores are full. I got one on hold. I'll report back with some pictures and a mini review.

thanks!

any info about toner refillability? 🙂

I looked on eBay before I bought and there are sellers that have refilled Canon #104 cardtridges for around 35-40 plus shipping. If you want to refill yourself, it looks like it's around 10.00 shipped for toner. There's also someone selling 5 x 150G bottles of toner for 27-28 shipped, (5.50 or so apiece).

Just look for Canon 104 toner.

thanks, i checked and saw that people were selling refills for the canon 104 too, just checking here to make sure there's no problems with chipped toners or anything. 🙂

Wow! Ordered it yesterday. Delivered to my doorstep <24hours :Q. Can't comment on it otherwise as it is a Xmas present, and the box is too big to fit under the tree.

Yah the BOX IS HUGE........... Wouldnt fit in the Acura Tl's Trunk had to put it in the back seat.

Also I got some pictures will post when I get home.

Overall Impression - usage of 10mins or less, was Awesome, quick scans / copies etc. Overall great purchase, but the starter Toner only lasts 1000 pages, and i'll have to purchase another toner in the near future.

can you guys that already received it confirm it has a network connection? some stores show network connectivity to be optional. thanks.

edit: officemax's page has conflicting info as well.
