Like the tilte says I just picked up a canon i960 photo printer for 169.99 +tax at the sacramento frys, after pm to best buy 199.99 + 30 gift card at the arden sacramento store.

Note you will have to have the ad from the newspaper from this past sunday to get the pm, or maybe a print out or something as they will take it and attach to the receipt. for those that are interested they have them in the back, so you willhave to ask them to grab one for you.. Oh this occured 10/29/03

Man, there's your chance a i960 for $169.00 doesn't get much better than that for a 6 color canon.

Been discontinued. Get a new i560. It's essentially the same printer as a i850. $99 at sams or costso w/USb cable or $$ after rebate at Staples.

don't forget the $30 MIR from canon for the i560. Dell has a pretty good deal if you use S&B 20% off, making it like $104 and free shipping...

Was thinking about dropping my new and yet unsed in box i850 for the i560 but the specs kinda throw me off.
#1 less memory, ~3x less.
#2 you'll also need to invest in the 6 series ink. Not a big deal but I have a bunch of 3 series left over from my BJC-6000 and I believe cost per page is better with the 3 series than with the 6 series.
#3 i850 is faster printing photos (probably helps because it has more memory)

#1 The 560 and 850 print engines are the same. Memory is less on i560. Good observation.

#2 The i560 uses BCI-6 color vs BCI-3 for the i850 BUT as far as we can tell the INK IS THE SAME. Have uses BCI-3 ink in the i560 and it looks fine. Just use your 3 ink to refill the 6's.

#3 That could be the case.

OTOH, why not just keep your i850?

That's what I did last night, ordered from Dell should be $129.99 - 20% off automatic - 2% eBates - 1% CitiBank cc - $30 rebate - 0% Oregon sales tax - free shipping $70.89 for Canon i560 not bad :)

Also picked up a 2 pack (75 sheets each) of Kodak 4x7 photo paper from CostCo for $19.99.

Canon paper works the best...followed by Epson...

I am keeping the i850. I was just responding to Macro2 on why the i850 might still be a better printer. Also final note I believe the there is less ink in the 6 series ink than in the 3 series ink, I do think it's the same ink but I kinda like the 3 series ink better.

Got i560 form staples for $65, price matched to ebuyer.com for $109 - $20 coupon - $30 rebate + tax = $65:D
