I just got back from BestBuy in central Florida. I had read on another thread that BB was clearing out the Epson R300 but not at my store, still $179.99. Saw a stack of Canon i960 on the top shelf but no floor model or price so I asked a CSR for the price. Popped up at $129.99 clearance which seems like an excellent price for this top rated photo printer. Results are comparable to the Epson R200/R300 but much faster and better ink supply management than Epson.

i960 is an awesome printer and that's super cheap for that price. I got mine for $180 something about a half a year back. You want photos at your fingertips? Get this one, it's tight... and it's really, really quiet.

I have this printer. My only negative comment; the pictures are not water resistant, you dont want to get them wet, not a drop.

I have the Canon i560 from Costco.... only cost like $60 w/ rebate.

Great print quality on 4x6 photo...fast too....not sure how it compares to the i960....

but the pics are water-proof(ish). I have dropped a whole stack walking into the house onto a wet lawn.... I shook the pictures off, no ink dammage and paper was unaffected.

My $.02

Edit: Found this info on Zdnet about this printer.

"Editors' rating: 7.5 Good

The good: Excellent photo and graphics print quality; fast photo print speeds; relatively inexpensive compared with the competition.

The bad: Slow text print speeds; high ink consumption.

The bottom line: The i960 prints good-looking photos quickly, but it's since been surpassed by newer technologies.

Actually this has nothing to do with the printer. It's the paper that you use. With one paper, a little drop causes the ink to run. With another paper, I can leave it under the tap while vigorously rubbing it under the water with my finger within less than a minute of printing w/ very minimal adverse affects.

I got this printer for $129.99+tax two weeks ago at Bestbuy. It's awesome! Great speed and photo quality! Now you can get it for $119.99 at Buy.com with free shipping. Highly recommend!

I have the previous model of the i960 (i950). Great printer! Best I have ever had for photos. I haven't been back to the photo lab in 2 years.
