I'm currently using this printer with a USB 1.1 cord.

A Printer couldn't be that bandwith intensive could it. Would a USB 2.0 cord provide any benefits?

I don't have both printers, so I can't provide a side-by-side comparison, but I'll tell you what makes it a better deal than the Lexmark: TWO WORDS -> Ink Cartridges

Lexmark cartridges are HORRENDOUSLY over priced.

The b/w for the canon can be had for $8 and color for $18 on Amazon and much cheaper at places like Megatoners ($2 and $2.75 respectively) Check the prices for the Lexmark cartidges. You'll spend $30-$40 per cartridge, and that's not an exaggeration.

My $60 Lexmark is sitting in the corner. There's no way I'm going to spend $70+ for replacement carts.

Thanks for the great thread, I just ordered the i320 and it should be here in a couple days.

Hmm... all this talk about cheaper ink cartridges makes me wonder how much you're REALLY saving with the canon? Yeah, I agree, you're probably saving in ink costs, but I don't think by that much. The canon refil capacity is like only 8ml i think. How about the Lexmark? ML for ML probably almost comes out the same. Unless the Canon uses less ink when printing somehow.

No, I'm not bagging on Canon. I own a Canon myself. I'm just wondering how much you're really saving in real world usage.

Anyone have opinons on the HP equivalent? The hp deskjet 3420 and the 3425?? I'm deciding between the two for my cousin who has minimal printing needs. (Just wants to prints CD covers and the like)

 Uh.... how do you think people are getting this for $29.99 AR/out the door for ~$60?

Search the sites that allow the posting of coupons.

This is the cart for my Lexmark. It doesn't list the capacity/ml, but there's no way that this is equal to TWELVE of the Canon carts ($2.75 vs. $34.99) and even the "refurbished" Lexmarks are listed at $30

The cheapest (posted) that you can get the Canon color is $2.75 Find me a place that I can get a replacement for that Lexmark cart for anywhere close to that amount.

Lexmark = scam

have a different question. What is the difference between a 1.0 and a 2.0 cable? I know the connectors are the same. Beyond that, isn't wire nothing but wire? How can one be faster than another?
I am not 100% sure on this, but we have sold these where I work and the specs are exactly the same on both USB1.0 and USB 2.0 cables. I would think that the cable, whatever one it is, should be able to handle the extra bandwith of USB 2.0 unless it is a very poorly made cable. I think that companies are trying to make more cash by selling the new USB 2.0 cables. ANyone have any comments on this?

Great Deal on this printer by the way!

Yeah I dont think it's tweleve too!! Haha, okay thanks! That's what I was wondering about, ink capacity vs costs. And I guess it still comes out to horrendously overpriced. Well that just sold me. I was considering an HP too, but I think the Canon got it right with packing their ink separate from their print heads for better cost-effcientcy.

Okay, I just got my printer (haven't hooked it up yet) but was I the only one who thought it was going to be silver? (it's white) No matter, I just thought the silver would look nicer :)

So, since it was delivered by the Office Depot van, it wasn't a box-in-a-shipping-box, it was just a guy carrying the Canon box. No biggie, but that also means that there's no invoice/receipt. I think somebody asked this before, but will the rebate accept a copy of my e-mail as a receipt? Anybody have any experience with Office Depot in this capacity?

EDIT: I just printed up my first print. It's a borderless 4x6 with a sheet of the included paper. I tell you what, it looks pretty durn sweet!

Thanks

The i320 is OK but the i550 and i850 are much better. Better resolution 4800x1200 vs 2400x1200. Faster easy to refill cartridges.

Since the rebate form states "One (1) coupon is required for each rebate requested and only (1) rebate per envelope", am I correct in assuming that there is no limit to the number of rebates that can be submitted per person/address?
