Canon Camera Boxes: do they come brand new with a sealing sticker?

I am wondering if Canon seals their digital camera boxes with sealing stickers that let us know it has never been open. I purchased one from Abe's of Maine.com and would like to ensure that it isn't open box, refurbished, or returned.

As I recall, I have had 6 cameras from Canon - all had seals over the lid flap tab.

Just checked both of my boxes, neither has residue from a seal and I'm fairly certain I remember them being unsealed. One bought in person from Circuit City, one mail-order from Adorama.

Nope, I've never had a factory sticker that sealed any of my camera boxes.

Best Buy and other retailers *USUALLY* put a little sticker of their own on there; something to the effect of "14-Day Return Policy, 15% Restocking Fee".

But Canon and other camera manufacturers ship the boxes unsealed.

Same here...canon does not seal the boxes they produce.

That's untrue; they're about average on RR; 7.74/10 for their 6-month.

The difference between Abe's @ 7.74/10 and Adorama @ 9.33/10 is customer service. Both are honest retailers; however if you need customer service (returns, exchanges, etc.) Adorama pulls ahead.

I ordered a battery grip from them; great price and free shipping.

Canon does not seal, retail stores may slap on their own seals so you can't use it and return it as "new".

I think that is true. Also, some stores shrink wrap all such boxes to prevent in-store pilfering of contents.

got the camera from Abes of Maine. their cs sucks. requires a call and they try to market you to buy aftermarket crappy batteries and long warranties. this is a huge - in my book.
box did not come sealed with any type of sticker
