Canon A75 CF Memory

I have a Fuji with an XD card and recently bought an A75 with a 512 CF card by Sandisk. Transferring from the CF is way slooooower than the XD. It takes about 8 minutes to transfer 450 megs using USB 2.0.

Anyone else experience this? Is it the generic card?
 
I guess that would explain it. I didn't check that out before I took the leap. I like Fuji cameras but wanted to try a Canon for a change. Thanks. 😀
