I know that they are really three diferent types of cameras, but will the sd110 (or 100), and the s400 take pictures that are as good a quality as the A70? I'd like something small (like the S and the SD series), but would prefer not to be broke. :) And so, might settle on an A70

nice. One of my friends also has an SD100, he loves his too, but they are a bit more pricey than the s400 and the A70, correct?

Can anyone that has either of those other two cameras post a pic for comparison? Thanks.

All are great cameras. the A70 won't fit too nicely in your pocket, so if you want a compact camera go with the s400 or the SD100.

I love my A60, the only regret I have is that I didn't get the A70.

Post a poll, I'd vote for the Canon.

Do you need manual settings? s400 doesn't have much to offer but it is a great camera for point and shoot. I have one and it's small enough to carry in your pocket, and works well IMO.

if you don't need the manual settings, I would say go the s1x/s4x. W/ that said, i voted the s1x because it's smaller. I have found the zoom to be somewhat useless for me... it doesn't have a fast enough lens (not that anything in this category does.. i'm just a picky SOB). That and for me, the s400 isn't as pocketable as the s1x. If I could, I might even trade in my s400 for sony's new slim large LCD 5MP'er... or the s1xd.. the ones that use the SD cards. but then.. I have to drop my 512MB cf card...

Actually even without the full manual control, you can still do quite a bit of adjustment in SD100 and S400. Just read the manual.

My main reason for choosing the s400 over the SD10 is that i already had a G3 and a ton of CF memory. I couldn't justify buying the sd10 and having to buy a bunch of new memory when i already had enough.

S400

There are manual settings available and the pictures look great.

Big factor is size for point and shoot family cameras, if its to big then you probably wont bring it with you.
The S400 is just small enough to fit in your pockets without causing any discomfort or pain.

Also the compact flash was a selling poin for me since I already have a bunch of these cards.
Peace
