CANON A2, WARM Deal.

I found the Canon A2, which is a high end SLR going for 459$ US at TriState Digital.

At E-pinions.com(epinions.com), they saidthis camera retails at 815$us.

I called this a warm deal only because I am not incredibly knowledgable about cameras.

A2 is a good camera. kinda old though. nice thing about it is it has spot metering. BH photo has this for 469. if i were to get this, id' go wiuth bhphoto since they have excellent rep.

actually, i'd spend a little more and get the new elan 7e.

I have always had good experiences with Beach Camera, for a mail order place. Althogh B&H probably has one of the best reputations out there they tend to be a bit pricey. I got to play with an ELAN 7e at a recent Canon clinic and I do like it a lot. The A2 is now discontinued and the Canon Tech said the ELAN 7 is it's replacement. I plan to get one soon and Beach has the ELAN 7e for; $499

no the elan 7e is not the replacement for the A2 but rather for the elan IIe. i have the IIe. pretty good except it only has 3 focusing points. new 7e has much more.

oh yeah, don't buy the crappy kit lenses: the 35-80 or 28-80. they're cheap and plasticky and are too slow.
