I got these Logitech® Z-5300e speakers for my dorm a few weeks ago and the bass is insanly high. The people below me keep complaining, and the speakers are VERY low. I can barely hear it myself, but the bass is still thumping. There was (as far as I can remember) no software with the set-up. My audio options (advanced options) are greyed out to turn down the bass and treble. Idk what to do, but I really need to get this bass eliminated (or at least turned down significantly) so I can turn my volume up without disturbing the people below me.

Thanks

Does the subwoofer itself have a volume adjustment knob on the back? My X-530's sub does.

Are you sure they're 5300e's?

I thought the z-5300s and the z-5300e sets both had a wired remote to control volume, the Matrix switch, etc.

What sound card are you using? Many come with an EQ that will let you attenuate the bass. You can probably find one online if one wasn't included. Also, if you are listening to music, most media players have a built in EQ.

If you play through WMP11, it has a good EQ display that lets you control frequency regions. I imagine other good players have that as well.
