"Cannot read MBR Sector" How can I fix it?

Here is my case:
I just reversed a DVD ROM and a CD ROM, after that reboot and they can't read my MBR sector. My computer use System Commander 7.03 for multi OS. I thought it would be SC problem, so I used rescue floppy disk of it to uninstall it. Still, I can't run my windows anymore.

motherboard MSI K7T266A
one DVDROM, CDROM and one burner
one IBM 60GB.
516MB DDR RAM

any help would be appreciated

if this helps, you can:
1. boot into recovery console with windows xp boot disk (which OS, btw?)
2. get to the command line somehow (can't remember)
3. run that command that should rewrite the mbr - chkdsk /f maybe? can't remember off the top of head - search for it

Then perhaps you can reinstall System Commander.

Hope this helps.

You MUST do it from XP, do NOT use DOS to perform an MBR fix. If you can't boot into console recovery mode from the boot menu (cmdcons not installed), then you have to boot into the Console Recovery mode via the XP CD.

format /mbr

It's fdisk /mbr

You MUST do it from XP, do NOT use DOS to perform an MBR fix.

Why????
