Hi there,
I have serious trouble, consistently, with several older machines (PIII generation).... some of them already had Windows98 installed on them.
But it seems that I cannot upgrade them to XP, no matter what.
The specs are old, but still decent (512 RAM), ample HDD space and so on...
It's just that no matter what I do, the setup fails. I get to the Setup screen (using a bootable XP SP2), but when it start preparing the installation, I get an avalanche of "Setup cannot copy..." this file and that... and everything goes to hell.
I am using brand-new DVD writer/reader units, I have several discs with the XP setup... and I'm getting seriously frustrated.
Can anyone please post some advice?
Someone else MUST have encountered this phenomenon before me...
