Question Cannot identify CPU

I bought a cpu at a resale store a few months ago and I've been in a mess to identify it ever since. The lid claims it as a Core i9 7900x. I thought I had gotten an amazing deal, and since I had no way to test it I sold it as Parts or Repair on eBay. After about 4 months the buyer filed a dispute through PayPal, and claimed I sold him a Core i7 processor. He wasn't very specific, but he claimed it worked although it wasn't what he ordered. I suspect it is a cpu that was delidded and swapped before I bought it, as it was from an Amazon return lot bought by the store. I was wondering if anyone could help me identify it through pictures of the top and bottom of it.

If you never tested it, there's no way of knowing.

That said, Ebay and Paypal sides with the buyer 99.99% of the time, so if you don't have concrete proof they are trying to scam you, you might as well save the time trying to fight it.

Its been remarked (laser).
SKL-X heatspreaders do not have the hole and the shape of the heatspreader doesn't match either.
If I had to guess, I'd say it is some early Broadwell-EP ES which has been remarked.

Doesn't match the backside of a KL-X chip as far as I can tell.
Doesn't look like a 2066 chip.
The only chip I saw that looked exactly like the pic in the OP was BW-E.

Okay that makes sense. People need to be more descriptive though "works" and "i7" aren't helpful. This is a 6850 for the 2011-v3 and not a 7900x would have been much more helpful.
