It has always been working since I built my computer in about November/December. Now all of the sudden it starts to no work, so I pull it out and then plug it back in and still nothing. I restart my computer, nothing. I uninstall my audio codecs and then restart and then re-install... still nothing.

I Am using onboard sound and suggestions?

What type of connector does it have (usb...) and did you install anyhardware or software before it went on the fritz so to speak. Try going to Start>Control Panel>Sounds, Speech...>Sounds and AUdio Devices, and check the tabs of Audio and Voice and see what the default recorder is. Hope this helps.

Anubis... I connect it using the regular audio connections, no usb. I did not install any software previous to it not working. I have messed around with some of the options in the sound/audio and still no success.

I think it is my motherboard/onboard sound. The connection feels loose in the audio slot, like I can jiggle it around. I will leave the mic out of the slot for awhile and see if it will work next time I plug it in.

I would suggest this USB Microphone . I've been using one for about a year now, and it always works, no matter what.

I was using on-board sound on my Epox 8RDA+ motherboard, and it took me forever to figure out that the mic inputs are disabled when using the SPDIF digital output. Go figure...

Start>Control Panel>Sounds, Speech...>Sounds and AUdio Devices is where the controls are I believe. If not back up one level on this scale and just look around. Hope this helps.
