Cannot find server or DNS Error!

My company has 2 XP Pro computers and 2 Win2k Pro computers which connect to a Win2k Server through a 4 ports Linksys router. The problem I am having is internet connection constantly dropping on the 2 XP Pro machines. I think the reason why internet connetion keep drop is because on the XP Pro machines we specificied the DNS. The following are the settings of our DNS on the 2 XP Machines: Preferred DNS was set to 192.168.0.20 (Win2k Server IP) and Alternative DNS was set to 207.69.188.185 (Mindspring DNS). I also specificied the DNS 207.69.188.185 on the Linksys Router and on the Win2k. The Linksys router also acts as a DHCP. The funny thing is once connection dropped, I have to go back to my mindspring home page to re-established connection. But once I reset to automatically obtain DNS the problem goes away but of course without specify DNS I can't connect to the Domain. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Voodoo,

seems like you're having a DNS problem. On your win2k server box, if you're running dns server, go to the property of dns server and set the forwarders to your ISP DNS Server.

On your client side, only point the DNS server to the win2k server box.

That should do it.

Actually, if you'd like to, you can also set your Win2k DNS server to be resolve your Internet DNS queries. Just make sure the Win2k DNS box has all the root hints available.
