two newly loaded systems, one win2k and the other winxp.... both are getting this error when opening ez cd creator 5 platinum

Cannot create creator error returned 0x80040154 .

Got this error, so I downloaded all patches from Roxio, and I still have the problem, anyone else seen this? I'm suspecting one of these stupid MS updates, but I loaded them all at one time, kinda hard to regress back one at a time and figure out which one.

Did you perform Windows Updates for these two environments?

yes, as I stated I loaded them all at one time. The only things its lacking is media player 9, movie maker 2, and the .net crap
