Cannot connect to Steam

Basically whenever I type in my password on my MBP I get the error "Steam is having trouble connecting to the Steam servers." This has been going on for a few days. Anyone run into this issue with their Mac? It's not a huge deal so I haven't really pressed it but decided to turn on my PC desktop this morning to see if it had the same issue. No problem at all, it loads directly into Steam without issue.

Any ideas?
 
I would test, but i am logged into steam on my desktop playing a game online right now...

It was working last week when i last logged in on my Air.
 
Yeah I'm thinking it's somehow related to my client and not the service itself. Google has turned up some results but nothing has worked for me. Guess I'll just try to uninstall/reinstall.
 
I had a similar problem about 6 months ago, after uninstalling/reinstalling the client I never had the problem again.
