I have a partition that I recently had Win98se on FAT32 and then Linux on ext2. Because of a Partition Magic 7 error, I had to get rid of the partition that Linux was on by using my WinXP CD and deleting that partition. I then used the WinXP CD to create a new raw partition in its place. It is 2GB in size but when I try to format it to either FAT32 or NTFS, the format never completes. This happens with both the format command in PM7 and WinXP. PM gives me an error number and WinXP gives me a msg that is along the lines of "The format could not be completed"

Did you make the partition in Linux? I don't think Windows can remove a partition created in Linux. You have to remove it in Linux then create with Windows.

I'm not a Linux expert though.

Win Xp's FDISK can remove partitions made with Linux..Win98's FDISK however, cannot. After removing all partitions, you could boot with a Win98 boot disk and try to do a FDISK /mbr and see if that works..Hope you weren't planning on saving anything on that drive.
