Hi all,

I have a CDRW with Adaptec DirectCD. The cd works fine, can load proggys and play music, but when I go to DirectCD and try to burn a cd, I immediately get a STOP ERROR and then the computer reboots! The stop error message flashes across the screen so fast I cannot read the full message. What do you guys think the problem is????
Please help! I am going crazy! Thanks all.

Completely remove adaptec's proggy from your PC and get a REAL burning program like Nero. I'll bet your burner on it that it'll work without any problems.

And are you in win2k? You can turn off automatic reboot on errors if you REALLY want to see the stop error message.. though it's pretty worthless and you'll probably not understand any of it (Mostly hex addresses for memory spaces etc.)

I've had a similar problem(without the reboot). I had to slow the burning speed down to 8x/6x(12x8x32x)when burning directly to cd-r's. Try that or copy to hdd first then burn to cd-r's.

best wishes....spank
