Cannot access www.countrywide.com

So a few weeks ago I started not being able to reach www.countrywide.com. My browser would just time out.
I cannot ping the site either. I have tried accessing the site from my Linux, Windows, Mac OSes and from two different computers. I can reach the site from work just not home. I have also tried bypassing my router and hooking up directly to my dsl modem with no luck.

Here is the traceroute and ping results. The Mac OSX ping program indicates I am being filtered. What can I do? and why would this be the only site I cannot access? I called countrywide and they told me I'm not being blocked for any reason.

Thanks

Any chance you have a rule or filter on your firewall that can be blocking this address (or block of addresses)?

Accidently marked by a popup blocker?

If you're using Firefox, try IE (or vice-versa).

Let us know.

I have used safari, IE, Firefox etc. The browser does not appear to be the problem.

I bypassed my router/firewall completely but hooking my computer directly up to the DSL modem and dialing in. I still have the same problem.

Are you (your machine(s), your firewalls, or your browsers) set to block or filter javascript?

Their pages appear to be populated by a fair amount of javascript.

Any other Ad blockers that might be active?

If it fails when you bypass the router, it has to be something on the pc (or the provider network, but that's not likely).

What have you changed on your machines lately (i.e., before this started happening)?

Try some of these links from their home page (to see if it's something in their home page code or something general to their site):

http://insurance.countrywide.com (Insurance Main Page)

http://insurance.countrywide.c...omeowners/default.aspx (Homeowners / Condo)

http://insurance.countrywide.com/auto/default.aspx (Automobile)

It's unlikely that your ISP is blocking you. It's far more likely that one of the routers on the way from you to the end site is having a problem.

We had this problem with the ISP we run a few weeks ago, and it mainly affected banking sites. It was AT&T's fault. They had a routing problem. This is a far more likely cause.

None installed

I can get to your site fine from NJ thru Verizon DSL ... I think the problem
is with the DNS Servers that Sprint is using as per your Traceroute
that is where it seems to stop.

15 sl-chli-17-0.sprintlink.net (144.232.146.162) 211.240 ms 208.280 ms 215.915 ms

I would call sprint internet support and have them look at the DNS

They've just been bought out, haven't they? I think Bank of America got them. Maybe there are some changes being made in the back office allready.

I just tried accessing the site from a neighbors house with the same ISP. Although the access was slow the site did come up.

I think I'm still being blocked for some reason.

Try using opendns?

opendns is doing nothing so far. Nslookup works from my XP box so I don't think it is a DNS problem

Download wiresharck, get a packet trace from your machine. That's the only way to figure out what is going on. outside of that you may have been blacklisted for viruses/worms from other ISPs

I'm assuming you mean "wireshark." If I was blacklisted, how come it is only 1 website? My IP changes if I renew it as well.(My ISP uses DHCP). Neighbors with the same ISP can get to the site just fine. Also, using US based proxy services, the site comes up just fine as well.
