I have one Win 2000 PC on a network with shared folders. I can see the computer just fine but when I try to access but get the typical this computer cannot be accessed dew to access permissions and stuff.

The system is set to share with everyone and uses both TCP/IP and NetBEUI. I don't remember how to allow access in Win 2000. Anybody remember?

Thanks

Go into the control panel and check your local security policy. If you're leaving the guest account open for people to access from, make sure that's not added to "Deny access from the network". Also, if you intend to just use the guest account, make sure that's enabled. Finally, make sure the guest account have permissions to read or write (depending on your preference) to those shares.

If you're not using Guest, then just make sure the above settings are set for whichever user account(s) you want to allow access from.
