goto 800.com and purchase cannon s110 for $399, get 100 back from MSn passport and price match with american express blue with MPsuperstore for 340.

so you get 399-100-60 ( from price match) - 50??? ( from the special they are running on all sales?? ) = less the 200

here's my question also..

1. how do you price match with american express and 2nd, will they rake in the 50 certificate 800.com give you in account when they price match???

thanks

on amex blue's website, i think there is a form to fill out

and dont forget the 100 value accessory rebate = free battery, 16mb flash & case..

dunno if 800.com is authorized canon dealer or not.. but additional battery and case only cost like 45 bucks.

perhaps add a 32MB SanDisk CompactFlash Memory Card? here

my cart subtotal came to 413.34...
or, if you get the 64 MB CF... 423.52 (10.18 difference *shrug*)

Thoughts and comments, thoughts and comments.

I bought a S100 in the spring to take on our family trip to disneyland. I also picked up a higher capacity battery ($50) and an 80 meg CF card (Probably $1.50 now;, actually Fry's had a 48 meg for $16). Anyway we would spend the whole day taking pictures at Disneyland, With the 2 CF cards I could take I think 130 pictures. Each battery would last approx. that many pictures also even with the flash. When we went back to the hotel at night we downloaded them to our laptop and E-mailed the best ones to relatives. I then erased the disks and plugged in the battery and was ready for another round the next morning. The things that impressed me most with this camera was that you could take well over 100 pictures at 1600 x 1024 without reloading film or changing batteries. Also the quality was excellent even in the dark area's that you where not allowed to use flash, the pictures turned out very clear. Also it is very well shielded from the elements, we took it on water rides, roller coasters and out in the hot california sun. I did also drop it once, the battery came out but the stainless shield around it protected it. Any plastic camera would have been in many pieces. It is also about the same outer diameter as a deck of cards and probably thinner than 2 stacked in top one another, so you can easily carry it arround in your pockets.
Sorry for the speach, but if you can find a good deal on one of these then go for it. It may not be a 18 megapixal camera but it does a really great job for what it is,
Scott

As I am strapped for cash, I will probably wait for the last possible day to take advantage of this offer (Dec 19)...

grr... i'm going to kick myself in the face if i don't take advantage

a question about navigating to find pictures, what do you prefer, multiple smaller cards or one big card (ie. 4x32 MB CF vs 1x128 CF)

(asking in classic newbie fashion, doh!)

I thought the Amex Blue PM works only on the final price you paid, after the subtraction of instant savings, rebates, etc.

Correct me if this is incorrect.

I shot too last week. I don't have AMEX Blue so I will not PM this baby. I got it from photoalley.com last week for $400. Photoalley also gave me $50 GC plus a free binocular. With the $80 MSN reward check, I will get the S110 for $320 + $50 GC + free binocular + $100 accessories rabate! This is sweeter than my honey! Shipment will arrive tomorrow. Can't wait that much.....:)

Guys,

FWIW, I would grab this little gem. The size is what makes it so compelling...you will *always* have it with you and you will always capture that shot .....how many times have you smacked your head and said "damn, I wish I had a camera" ;)?

I've been shooting with my Nikon 990 since it came out and you would have to pry it from my hands....but, I
didn't carry it everywhere, it is a bit too bulky. Not so with the S110.

And it's built like a tank. I've had mine for only a month and it's already "survived" a rough and tumble trip
to Disney with 4 kids under 11 followed by a 5 day trip to the Japanese countryside....500 shots later and
it never failed me...Iand I didn't have to smack my head once!

Get it!

If I am not mistaken, mpsuperstore is participating in the msn passport promotion as well, so why not just buy from them and not hassle with the pricematch. Then it will also work for those of us who do not have an amex blue card. I guess you will only get $60 instead of $80 back from ms, but since the maximum you can get on the passport deal is $100 (unless you are shady and want to attempt to use 2 credit cards to get 2 $100 rebates), this will leave room to get the remaining $40 in msn rebate on another product.

When the 20% off from dell.com I bought the Canon Pro 90 IS and 256 MB from Viking. My total was 980.00 I'm going to double price match using amex and zdnetrewards for a total return of $500...so my total will come out to $480. I wil PM to regencycamera.

I'm sure you can do something like this with S110...Towards april I will try to get a deal with this model because the Pro 90 being a great camera is too bulcky for many situations.

If you want more detail let me know.

Anybody got a link to the accessory rebate on the S110? Just hooked up for one of these for a Christmas gift via Passport/800.com. Net total the way I see it is $399 - $50 (800.com gift check), -80 from Passport (I added something to push it over $400), for a $270ish total. I also bought it with my Blue, so if it drops anymore in the next month I'll up my savings via a Blue PM.

Nice nice deal. Just need to find the accessory rebate info and sweeten it further. :)

The S110 that this deal is for is a heck of a nice digicam. 2 megapixels will let you print superb 5" x 7" photos and quite nice 8" x 10" prints. If you follow the instructions, it comes in @ $270 less any PMing you can do if you have an AMEX Blue.
