Cannon a40

Anyone out ther have a Cannon A40 ? I would like to know if it takes good pictures inside. I have a
Kodak 3500 and it take crappy pics indoors.I'm going to get a new one and I'm leaning towards the Cannon A40 but i want one that takes good indoor pics.
Thanks for the input

I've got one...it's indoor or macro pictures are fine, provided you read the manual and get used to the camera's many settings. For macro I recommend a tripod to prevent camera shake.....and practice, practice, practice.

Really or are you pulling my chain

I'm not pulling your chain. I have read a few comments from Canon A40 owners that it's a great all around digicam except for indoor & macro shots.

The comments are probably buried in one of these A40 threads (happy hunting).

Damn. And all this time I thought you were a nice guy.

I agree with the macro being subpar, but with the right settings indoor pics are at least as good as any comparable digital camera (read ok).
Course if you're rich there is a macro lens available.

I've only had it a couple of weeks so I'm not even close to knowing how to use all the settings yet. Here's a couple of samples of indoor pics with everything set to auto.

sample2

Oh, and any helpful suggestions are welcome. 😉

Pics don't look that bad but why are you posting pics of a kid who's using a potty thingie?

I just don't think that's appropriate.

Ok ok, ya bunch of old hens...I'll take it down. 😉

Please, don't. I'm still busting a gut. That's just so funny for some reason.

Kids don't need toys, just turn them loose in the kitchen. They can fend for themselves.

But, really, I hope he isn't sitting on a log.

What are macro shots? Close ups?

I have a few 'close' shots.. here.. (1600x1200, the ones with the s are 800x600)
Edit: Those are leafs in ice on my hottub lid.

But I havent played around indoors much.

no idea what macro shots are either, but if those are, they look pretty good for macro shots. 🙂

the A40 is a damn nice camera for the price. Indoor is _fine_ but I have not tried a "macro" shot.
