Cannabis raises risk of psychosis

The health effects of cannabis are controversial
Frequent cannabis use during adolescence and young adulthood raises the risk of psychotic symptoms later in life, research suggests.
The risk was much higher in young people who were already genetically vulnerable to developing psychosis.

It is thought cannabis disrupts the balance of the key mood chemical dopamine in the brain.

This is going to be a popular thread.

Contrary to what a lot of pot-heads want to think, the stuff is a neurotoxin and it really isn't brand spanking new news. Great, so now you can suffer dementria.

Wanna get high?

Your point.Same for alchohol.Ban them both or legalize them both.Just stop with the double standards.

Man has had a part in the production of alcohol....so I'm guessing that is why it is legal
Man has had no part in marijuana, besides the government for medicinal purposes now and its taxed too.

I'm guessing it's illegal because they do not feel they have controlled the substance enough?

Many many things do harm to us, but they are not illegal.

Whatever though....it's better in my eyes then alcohol.

A neurotoxin? Do you have any proof to back that up? That sounds very odd seeing as the brain actually produces a canabinoid very similar to THC itself.

As for what I think, I think it's a waste of time and money. I've tried it. It did nothing for me. You can get higher sniffing the cocaine residue off a $100 bill.

You must of not had the KB.Also very rarely will people get Blunted their first experince.

EyeMWing....cocaine can be fatal as opposed to marijuana. Also, who knows what you smoked.

Cocaine and marijuana produce two different highs, but I do not do cocaine anyway.

You either need to find out what a neurotoxin is or re-read extant cannabis studies.

Also, your position clashes mightily with the sentiment in your sig.

I never said I go around sniffing my $100's. I save that for the singles, since they've been in a much better place (haha no)

And as for what I smoked, knowing the shitheads around here it was probably some very fvcked up lawn grass.

The only policy that makes any sense is: Regulatory Parity for Alcohol, Tobacco and Marijuana. The framework is already in place and works pertty well for alcohol. All we need to do is stop wasting so much money enforcing the marijuana laws and spend a bit of it keeping tobacco out of the hands of kids and out of public places.

Chocolate contains traces of cannabinoids as well, iirc. A lot of research funded by the US gvmt finds this sort of thing. Pay a research group enough and they'll find that ATOT gets more chicks than Cassanova, it really means nothing. It may not be harmless and it may not be for children... but alcohol and tobacco are two far more dangerous drugs, and frankly, what people do behind closed doors is their business, and their business only, so long as it doesn't adversely affect other people.

True, I think the body needs to have a little bit to start with or something. I didn't get a thing my first 2-3 times, I was seriously wondering wtf the big deal was.
